LockMic Privacy Policy

Overview

LockMic is a macOS microphone-control and local-recording app from WIXEELABS DOO BEOGRAD. LockMic does not upload, transmit, or remotely store microphone audio or recording files. Recordings remain in the folder you choose on your Mac.

Optional analytics

If you explicitly enable anonymous usage sharing, LockMic sends product-interaction events to Google Analytics. These events can include app start and quit, mute and unmute actions, hotkey or interface activation method, recording start and stop, HUD mode, app version, macOS version, language/locale, event date, a randomly generated app-instance identifier, and a session identifier.

Google may process technical connection information such as an IP address to deliver and secure the analytics service and to derive approximate location. LockMic does not include your name, email address, recording contents, microphone audio, filenames, or document contents in analytics events. We use this information only to understand feature usage and improve reliability. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Your choices

Analytics sharing is opt-in and can be disabled in LockMic settings. When it is disabled, LockMic does not send usage events. You may delete LockMic’s local preferences by removing the app’s container and preferences from macOS.

Local data and permissions

LockMic stores preferences locally on your Mac. It requests microphone access to control and optionally record audio, and system-audio access when you choose to record playback. File access is limited by macOS permissions and the App Sandbox. LockMic accesses a recording folder only to create and manage recordings at your direction.

Third-party services

Optional analytics are processed by Google Analytics. LockMic may contact GitHub to check for software updates. Opening external links is handled by your default browser and is subject to the destination’s privacy policy.
